always an art in which individual touches shone through. It's beauty was
that virtually any body style could be chosen, though true customising
started in the 1950s so that's where many people choose their base material
from. The Ford Crestline Sunliner from '52 wasn't chosen as often as the
early post-war Fords, but even so it lent itself well to the treatment
as the general body shape was very similar to the new-for-'49 model. This
car has a host of extras, and in customising the right type of extras
are essential - things like upmarket hubcaps, whitewall tyres, grille
teeth made from bumper overriders, A-pillar spotlamps and flames to give
a real hot rod feel. The accessories inside are just as important, with
fluffy dice hanging from the rear view mirror for luck, plus a tweaked
dash with peaked switches. This car has also had a roof chop.
