the Galaxie turned from a muscle car into something more subtle and formal,
though it remained a good seller for Ford. The car had lost its ground-breaking
lines in favour of the fastback style, which was fast becoming the norm
later that decade, though Dodge and Plymouth had the edge on shape. This
custom version has taken the stock look and colour-coded everything to
help bring the shape up to date, also helped by the addition of modern
billet alloy rims with low-profile tyres. Three-inch drop spindles have
been fitted to lower the front, while the rear does the same through lowering
blocks between the leaf springs and live axle. The body has been seam
welded to make it torsionally stiffer, and to take advantage of the extra
handling available, there's a modified 390 ci (6.3-litre) big-block engine
with new headers, an Edelbrock intake and a bigger carb.
