grown-up Mustang, the Lincoln LSC ran on an identical Fox platform and
came with the same specification engine as the street-brawling 5.0 GT
Mustang. Although somewhat heavier than the smaller car, the LSC (luxury
super coupe) had tremendous pick up and the standard auto gearbox harnessed
the power well. Where it was vastly superior to other cars on the same
platform (such as the earlier Thunderbird and Mercury Cougar) was with
its ride quality, which was super smooth, thanks to air suspension. It
was still an okay handler because of fattened anti-roll bars, ABS-assisted
disc brakes all around and 7 x 16-inch (178 x 406mm) alloys with Goodyear
Eagle 225/60 tyres. Inside it had luxury features such as climate control,
12-way power seats, cruise control, tilt column, plus power windows, mirrors,
door locks and steering. The only optional was leather seats.
